Biography
Ogura Tōkei (1750-1799) was a Japanese artist known for his detailed drawings of horses. He is best known for his *Uma-e*, a genre of art depicting horses, which were highly valued in Japanese culture. The fine lines and delicate shading of his work show his keen eye for detail and understanding of animal anatomy. His work can be seen in *surimono* (printed images) and *ukiyo-e* (woodblock prints), which were popular art forms in Japan during his time.
