Biography
Jean Parise was a medallist, active in the 17th century. He is best known for his commemorative medal, which depicts King Charles II on one side, and on the other side, a scene where a king is being crowned by a female figure, potentially an allegory of "Victory", representing the success of the Stuart dynasty. This medal exemplifies the popular use of the medium in the 17th century, where it was used to both commemorate historical events and propagate political messages.
