Biography
Jacques Juliot, a sculptor whose work is mainly known through a single surviving piece, is known for his detailed and realistic relief sculpture depicting "The Death of the Virgin" created in 1540. The piece is carved in alabaster and features a dramatic scene with a complex composition. The figures are depicted in a naturalistic style, and the drapery is intricately rendered. This impressive piece of Renaissance sculpture is now part of the collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum.
