Biography
Gonsales Appelmans was a Dutch engraver and publisher who was active in the 17th century. He was known for his portraits and illustrations of important figures and events. His engravings are characterized by their detail and precision, and they often feature elaborate frames and decorative elements. He created a portrait of the renowned Danish anatomist and physician Thomas Bartholinus and a portrait of Johann Wilhelm, the Elector Palatine.
