Biography
Girolamo Macchietti (1535-1592) was an Italian draftsman primarily known for his drawings, many of which are studies for larger paintings. His works, often executed in red chalk, exhibit a keen interest in anatomy and the human form, as seen in his depictions of figures in various poses and expressions. While details about his life are scarce, his surviving drawings provide valuable insight into the artistic practices of the late Renaissance.
