Biography
Francesco Chiarottini (1748-1796) was an Italian engraver and publisher. He was born and died in Cividale del Friuli. Chiarottini is best known for his engravings of works by the celebrated Venetian painter Giovanni Battista Tiepolo. The engraving was a popular and important art form in the 18th century, used to reproduce and disseminate paintings and other works of art. Chiarottini's engravings were highly sought after by collectors, and they helped to spread the fame of Tiepolo's art throughout Europe.
