Victor Vasarely made "Kezdi Ga" with, what looks like, screen printing techniques. The way Vasarely lays down these cool blues and greens is really captivating, creating a sphere from flat shapes and colours; it feels incredibly methodical, almost like following a recipe. Up close, the texture is smooth and the colours are solid, with no visible brushstrokes. It's all about precision and control, yet the overall effect is dynamic, pushing and pulling at your eye. That central diamond, slightly off-kilter, is a nice touch - it breaks the symmetry just enough to keep things interesting, like a little hiccup in the pattern. It keeps it from becoming too rigid. Vasarely reminds me of Bridget Riley, though with a bit more structure. Both play with perception, making you question what you see. "Kezdi Ga" really shows how art can trick the eye and mess with your mind, all while looking so damn cool.
