This porcelain sculpture, "Putto as Saturn," was created by the Nymphenburg Porcelain Manufactory between 1750 and 1761. The sculpture depicts a cherubic figure, a putto, holding a sickle, a symbol of the Roman god Saturn, who was associated with agriculture and time. The delicate white porcelain and the charming depiction of a cherub as a powerful god are characteristic of the Rococo style, which was popular in Europe during the 18th century. This particular sculpture is currently on display at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
