This Alto Saxhorn in E-flat, created by John Howard Foote between 1865 and 1880, is a brass instrument with a bell-shaped mouthpiece and a long, cylindrical body. The saxhorn's valve system, visible in the middle of the instrument, allows for a range of pitches and tones, making it a versatile musical instrument. This particular saxhorn is currently housed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
