Tegeltableau met Willem IV te paard en opschrift WILLEM KAREL HENDRIK FRISO PRINS VAN ORANJE c. 1760 - 1795

This 18th-century Dutch tile depicts Willem Karel Hendrik Friso, Prince of Orange, on horseback. Created in the style of Delftware, the tile utilizes cobalt blue and white glaze to depict the prince in full armor, riding a dappled horse, with a decorative floral border. This type of tile, known as a tegeltableau, would have been used to create decorative wall panels. The inscription at the top identifies the subject of the artwork and the artist remains anonymous. This tile is part of the collection of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
