This photogravure print of the Grand Hôtel des Salines te Rheinfelden, was made by Füssli & Co. Orell. It’s like they're saying, hey, let's freeze this beautiful landscape, but give it a painterly vibe. There’s a softness, a kind of dreamy quality to the whole scene. The texture almost feels like a watercolour wash and that mountain range in the background, with the snow-capped peaks, is incredible! Look at how the light catches those tiny peaks. The layers of greens, browns, and whites, it's a whole ecosystem of colours that pull you in. It reminds me of those Hudson River School paintings, but with a cool, detached vibe. It's like, nature is awesome, but we're just here to observe. It's romantic, but also a bit clinical, you know? The longer I look at it, the more I see in it.
