Editor: So, here we have Robert Medley’s "Divertimento." It's giving me a sense of playful geometry. What do you make of it? Curator: You know, "divertimento" translates to amusement, and I think Medley really captured that. The shapes almost dance, don't they? The red ones feel like they're leading a sort of chaotic ballet. Almost a Matisse-like freedom, but with a stricter architectural framework. Editor: An architectural framework, you say? Curator: Yes, those blacks and greys hold the reds and yellows in check, preventing them from spiraling into pure, unadulterated joy. Perhaps it shows Medley's struggle with embracing pure abstraction, something he often wrestled with. It's controlled chaos! Editor: Interesting. I see the amusement and the control now. I appreciate the fresh perspective! Curator: And I appreciate your youthful eye reminding me to look beyond the theory and just feel the piece. Thanks.
