Veritas 

"Veritas" is a painting by contemporary Russian artist Konstantin Korobov, who was born in 1985. The painting depicts a stylized, almost skeletal, arrangement of animal forms - a heron, a snake, and a raccoon. The heron's wings are spread wide, the snake is coiled around its neck, and the raccoon is positioned as if in a struggle for dominance. The entire scene is set against a black background and the Latin inscription "Doctrina multi, triplex veritas una" (many teachings, but one truth) at the bottom of the piece reinforces the underlying theme of knowledge and its complexities. This work could be considered a contemporary interpretation of traditional still-life, focusing on symbolism and metaphorical imagery.
