Victor Vasarely made this painting, ASKO, and it's all about seeing as process! The colors are so methodical, yet they create this wild, almost psychedelic cube. Look at how he uses the simple shapes of circles to build the form, it's like he's saying, "Hey, seeing isn't just about what's there, but how we put it together." The texture seems smooth, almost machine-like, but I bet if you got up close, you’d see the hand in there. There's one cluster of dark grey circles that really pulls back into the picture plane, making the whole thing breathe. Vasarely reminds me a little of Bridget Riley, playing with your eyes, getting you to question what's real. Art like this opens up a space where nothing's fixed, and everything's up for grabs.
