This 2½ cent coin was minted in 1877 during the reign of King Willem III of the Netherlands, who is featured on the coin's reverse side. The coin is circular and features a lion holding a sword, a traditional symbol of the Netherlands. The inscription around the lion reads “KONING DER NEDERLANDEN” (King of the Netherlands), and “1877” is engraved at the bottom. This small bronze coin, measuring 2.35 cm in diameter, is currently part of the Rijksmuseum collection.
