"Bijbelsche figuren van het Oude Testament" (Biblical Figures of the Old Testament) is a 1719-1721 woodcut print by the widow of Gijsbert de Groot. The print depicts 12 scenes from the Old Testament, presented in small squares, with a text caption underneath each image. This type of woodcut printing, often referred to as broadside, was popular in the 17th and 18th centuries for disseminating information and stories to a wide audience. The use of simple but expressive lines and colours contribute to the narrative quality of the artwork. The print is a valuable example of religious imagery and printmaking techniques of the period.
