Himalayas 

Nicholas Roerich painted this evocative image of the Himalayas at some point during his extensive travels through Asia in the first half of the twentieth century. Roerich was deeply influenced by the Theosophical Society, an international organization that blended western esotericism with elements of Buddhism and Hinduism. The Society promoted universal brotherhood and believed in uncovering the hidden spiritual potential of humanity. For Roerich, the Himalayas were a source of spiritual insight.
