Curatorial notes
Editor: This is an untitled photograph by Jack Gould, showing a woman and children sleeping on train seats. It’s very intimate, almost voyeuristic. What do you see in this piece? Curator: It's dreamy, isn't it? Like a memory half-formed. The negative space lends it a ghostly quality, as if the subjects are fading back into the train's fabric. I wonder, is it about the journey, or the vulnerability of rest in transit? Editor: That's beautiful - I hadn't thought about vulnerability. Curator: Sometimes art whispers, sometimes it shouts. This one murmurs secrets of travel and family. Editor: I’ll certainly remember that. Thanks!
