This 'Untitled' work is by Leo Leuppi, we don't know when it was made or with what! It's a party of shapes dancing against a black background. There’s a stark contrast in color and form. Leuppi doesn’t mess around with blending here, he lays down these clean shapes with absolute precision, like each form is a carefully considered decision in a complex game. The forms feel flat, almost like they have been cut from paper and layered. But look at the little tower near the center, constructed from squares like some kind of pixelated building. The black and white is crisp, and then you have this pop of primary colors: red, yellow, blue. It's so playful, so balanced. I think of Albers playing with squares and color theory. Ultimately, art is an ongoing conversation, and Leuppi is right in there.
