Christian Bernhard Rode's Allegory of Reverence presents us with a tableau rich in symbolic meaning. A regal female figure stands at the center, flanked by cherubic attendants and a watchful lion, all rendered in delicate lines. The cornucopia, overflowing with fruits, suggests abundance and prosperity, its roots running deep into ancient Greece.
