Brian Halsey created "Centros" using what looks like screen printing, and boy, does it pop! The cool blues vibrate against the deep blue background, giving this geometric orb some serious depth. I’m drawn to the way the light hits each block, like a puzzle piece in this sphere. You can almost feel the crisp edges and smooth surface, even though it's just ink on paper. Halsey doesn’t try to hide the process. In fact, the clarity of the printing celebrates it. The tension between flat shapes and the illusion of three dimensions reminds me of Sol LeWitt's wall drawings, where simple forms create complex visual experiences. Ultimately, "Centros" is a reminder that art doesn't always need to be complicated to be captivating; sometimes, a few well-placed colors and shapes can open up a whole world of possibilities.
