Alfred Freddy Krupa made this artwork, Behind the tree line, on a 35 x 50 cm canvas using ink, it looks like. The stark contrast makes me think about how we find light in the dark. I love how the textures are created – those scratchy lines and dense black areas make it feel like you’re really standing there, feeling the cool air. The whiteness isn't gentle, more like urgent scribbles that show the energy of the moment, how the artist quickly captures fleeting light, or a memory. Look at the lower left corner – see how the white lines converge? It’s almost like a spotlight shining on a hidden path. It reminds me a bit of Franz Kline, but with a touch more wilderness. Art's about exploring what we see, and what we feel when we look, not settling on one answer.
