It echoes some of the angst and intensity we see in Neo-Expressionism, but it feels deeply personal, less concerned with making a grand statement, and more about wrestling something internal onto the canvas. What do you make of the limited color palette? Editor: It definitely amplifies that feeling! Like there’s something simmering beneath the surface. Almost as if brighter colours would be too… revealing? Curator: Exactly! Think about how a dream often has distorted or exaggerated elements, "Beast 7" channels a similar kind of subjective truth, wouldn’t you agree? It’s not necessarily about portraying something that exists objectively, but about capturing the feeling of it. Which makes me wonder… do you think the "beast" is something external, or internal? Editor: Ooh, that's a fantastic question. I was initially leaning towards external, but now I see it as a projection of internal turmoil, an exploration of something the artist is grappling with personally. Curator: Isn’t it funny how a piece can shift and change the more we look at it? It becomes less about the painting and more about the dance between the artwork and the viewer. I love that space where interpretation happens. Editor: Absolutely! This has really changed how I initially perceived it.
