Schip in een ornamentele lijst met triton en nereïde 1717

Bernard Picart's "Schip in een ornamentele lijst met triton en nereïde" is a 1717 etching depicting a ship framed by a decorative border. This border is created by a nereid (female sea-nymph) and a triton (male sea-nymph) with a trident, positioned on either side of the ship. This vignette suggests a celebration of the sea and seafaring with its maritime imagery and stylized design.
