The dog is the only authentic thing, oblivious. How about you? Do you think the space is as important as the figures? Editor: I hadn't thought of it that way, but I see what you mean. The emptiness around them creates a sense of isolation. It makes the portrait so much more powerful. Curator: Exactly!
