This anonymous engraving from the 18th or 19th century depicts Frederik, Prince of Orange-Nassau in an oval frame. The prince is wearing a military uniform with a star-shaped decoration on his chest. He is looking straight ahead with a serious expression. The inscription below the image identifies the sitter as “Wilhelm George Friedrich Prinz von Oranien." The delicate hatching and cross-hatching lines of the engraving give the portrait a detailed yet delicate feel. The portrait is currently housed in the Rijksmuseum, one of the most important museums in the Netherlands.
