"Transpercer la transparence (1)," a 1951 work by Romanian artist Gherasim Luca, is a prime example of *Dadaist* art. It features an ornate, decorative frame with a blue and white floral motif. Within the frame, seemingly random, overlapping pieces of transparent paper are arranged, giving the artwork an abstract and unsettling effect. The work can be interpreted as a commentary on the nature of perception and the difficulty of discerning truth, as well as a critique of traditional notions of beauty and form.
