Charles Caseau made this cool, pale-blue candlestick drawing with watercolor. I can imagine how he built it up, layer by layer, thinking about the light and how the colors meet to create a sense of roundness. There's something so meditative about painting, right? I imagine him, maybe late in the day, really focused on the light reflecting off the glass. Look how the shadows play—it's like he’s trying to capture a fleeting moment. The subtle variations in the blue create such a calming effect. It reminds me a bit of some of Giorgio Morandi's still life paintings, where simple objects become these vehicles for exploring light, shadow, and quiet contemplation. It makes you wonder, doesn’t it? How the simplest forms, when carefully observed and rendered, can hold so much beauty and depth. It's like he is saying, "Hey, look at this ordinary thing. Isn't it amazing?"
