The Brazen Bull of Phalarus 

Pierre II Woeiriot de Bouzey's etching, "The Brazen Bull of Phalaris", depicts the cruel tyrant Phalaris of Agrigento overseeing the execution of a victim inside a hollow bronze bull. The victim is placed inside the bull and a fire is lit beneath, the screams coming from the victim are amplified through tubes inside the bull, making it sound like the animal is roaring.
