Maria met kind, naast hen Jozef en Johannes de Doper 1729 - 1776

This etching by Paul Friedrich Engelbrecht, titled *Maria met kind, naast hen Jozef en Johannes de Doper* (Maria with child, next to them Joseph and John the Baptist) depicts the traditional Holy Family. The composition includes Mary and Joseph with a sleeping baby Jesus, and the youthful John the Baptist kneeling before the infant. An angel, flying above, adds a heavenly element to the scene. The artwork is framed by elaborate decorative borders and features a Latin inscription at the bottom. Engraved in 1729, the artwork is a fine example of the Baroque style, employing dramatic lighting and dynamic composition. The etching is part of the Rijksmuseum collection in Amsterdam.
