Editor: This is Paul Gavarni's print, "You must show pictures to man: reality annoys him!" I find the contrast between the two figures so interesting. What do you see in this piece? Curator: Gavarni, bless his insightful heart, captures a timeless truth. It feels as if he's winking at us, suggesting our hunger for curated realities, the "pictures," as opposed to the messy, unfiltered truth. It's funny, isn't it, how little we've changed? Editor: It really is, I guess people have always preferred a good story over the truth. Curator: Indeed. Now, I can't help but wonder, what kind of reality would *we* curate, if given the chance?
