This silver coin, minted in 1838, is a cent from the Dutch East Indies. It was commissioned by King Willem I of the Netherlands, who ruled from 1772 to 1843. The coin displays "NEDERL. INDIE 1838" on the obverse, with a small star above the text. This coin, a small but significant object, represents the Dutch colonial presence in the Indies during the 19th century and is now part of the Rijksmuseum collection.
