This Sheraton Chair was drawn by John Price, but there's no information about when or with what. Looking at it, I can see the hand of the artist in the visible strokes and the way the colours blend. Artmaking is always a process, it's never just about the end result! The texture looks smooth, with a careful application of colour that gives depth to the wooden parts and texture to the seat. What I love most is how the colour changes, it's not just brown, but a mix of reds, browns, and even hints of green. Look closely at the back of the chair, you'll see the subtle shifts that give the wood its form. There's something about the way this chair is drawn that reminds me of other artists who found beauty in everyday objects. It makes you think about how we see and value the things around us, and how artists can help us see them in new ways.
