This saucer, part of a larger tea service, was made at the Frankenthal Porcelain Manufactory in Germany between 1765 and 1775. The porcelain is decorated with a delicate black and white depiction of a bird perched on a branch, surrounded by stylized floral motifs. This delicate, hand-painted scene exemplifies the Rococo style popular in 18th-century Europe, emphasizing asymmetrical patterns and natural imagery. The saucer is currently housed in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
