Cassandre made this poster, Fetes de Paris, back in 1935. Just imagine him at work in his studio. He's probably smoking, right? This is how painting works—starting with a vibe, a general notion, and then a more specific, intentional phase. I love how the woman's face morphs seamlessly into the cityscape. The buildings become the architecture of her mind. There's something almost surreal about it. The way he paints her skin—this peachy glow, like a Renaissance painting. But then, bam! It dissolves into these rigid architectural forms. Painting is like this ongoing conversation across time. We borrow from each other, remix, and reimagine. Cassandre was clearly plugged into the art of his time, but he’s also paving the way for future artists, inviting us to see the world in new, unexpected ways.
