This untitled print by Myron Kozman is a real head-scratcher, and I mean that in the best possible way. It’s like he’s taken a bunch of letterforms, stretched them out of recognition, and then floated them over a blurry blue background. I can imagine Kozman in his studio, layering colors and shapes, maybe not quite knowing where he was going, but trusting the process. There's a soft, slightly faded quality to the print, it feels like a memory. I wonder if he was thinking of earlier Constructivist artists, but then giving it his own spin? I love how the red stripe cuts across the composition, adding this little jolt of energy against those muted tones. It reminds me that art is an ongoing conversation, with artists riffing off each other across time. Each mark, each gesture, is a kind of question, inviting us to look and think in new ways.
