Francesco di Giorgio Martini's bronze relief, *Saint John the Baptist,* depicts the biblical figure in a naturalistic pose. Dated to circa 1475–1485, the work showcases Martini's mastery of Renaissance sculpture. Saint John is presented in a three-quarter view, his body partially draped in a cloth and his right hand raised in a gesture of preaching. The subtle modeling of the figure and the flowing drapery convey a sense of realism, while the circular format is reminiscent of classical Roman medallions. This work is a testament to Martini's skill as a sculptor and his ability to integrate Renaissance ideals into his religious art.
