What strikes you when you look at this print? Curator: The upward gaze, precisely. It invites us to consider our own spiritual yearning. Notice the dove, too; the divine entering the earthly realm. How does that make you feel? Editor: It feels…hopeful, I guess? Is that what Callot intended? Curator: Perhaps. Or perhaps he simply wanted to capture a moment of intense faith. It's in the eye of the beholder, isn't it? Editor: I guess so! I see something new each time I look. Curator: Exactly! And that's the enduring power of art.
