Editor: So, this is "10. Sheet C" by Gerd Winner. It’s hard to pin down a date. I’m struck by how the stark lines and colors almost flatten the scene. What's your take on it? Curator: I see a commentary on urban environments and the processes that shape them. Look at the industrial materials: brick, asphalt. The printmaking process itself is key. What repetitive labor went into this image of repetition? It challenges our notions of artistic skill and the consumption of urban space. Editor: That makes a lot of sense! I hadn't considered the printmaking process in relation to the subject matter itself. Curator: Exactly! It’s about labor and production, both within the image and in its creation. Editor: Thanks, now I’m looking at it from a totally different angle. Curator: My pleasure! It’s all about peeling back those layers of production.
