Editor: Here we have an untitled photograph by Jack Gould, showing two boys in a theater audience. The world's drained of color, almost dreamlike. What’s your read on this image? Curator: It's interesting, isn't it? The negative space, the anonymity of the audience, the boys' expectant gazes... It feels like a memory, hazy and incomplete. Do you think the lack of a specific title adds to that sense of universal experience? Editor: I think so! It is like anyone, anywhere, anytime can be there! Curator: Exactly! Perhaps the real art is not what they’re watching, but the shared act of watching itself. A blurry mirror of ourselves, reflected in those expectant faces. I appreciate that.
