This silver medal, created by Dutch medalist Christoffel Adolphi in 1667, commemorates the Peace of Breda, a treaty that ended the Second Anglo-Dutch War. The obverse depicts a female figure representing Peace, standing on a defeated lion, symbolizing England, while holding a branch of olive and a scepter. On the reverse, a figure representing Holland, with a trident, stands victorious over a defeated ship representing England. The medal, only 7.1 cm in diameter, reflects the significance of the treaty in Dutch history and art.
