"Card Number 155" is a collectible trading card from the late 19th century. Part of a series promoting Cross Cut Cigarettes, it features a sepia-toned image of a woman in a feathered hat and fringed costume. The card is a prime example of a popular marketing strategy during the Gilded Age, using images of performers and celebrities to advertise products. The small size and simple design of the card reflect the rapid rise of mass production and the growing popularity of tobacco products in American society. This card is currently housed in the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
