"Achab toont berouw na de vloek van Elia" (Ahab Shows Repentance after the Curse of Elijah) is an etching created between 1751 and 1816 by the Dutch artist Reinier Vinkeles (1741–1816). This small but detailed print, now housed at the Rijksmuseum, depicts a scene from the Old Testament in which King Ahab, dressed in a robe, is confronted by the prophet Elijah. The scene is set outside a walled city, and the artist uses fine lines and shading to convey the emotional weight of the moment, as Ahab expresses remorse for his past actions. The etching showcases Vinkeles's skill in representing biblical narratives with a realistic and dramatic approach.
