Editor: I didn’t think of it that way. It seems to highlight the roles women played in their communities. Curator: Exactly, roles that were simultaneously vital and often overlooked by mainstream narratives. This image is a potent reminder of their contributions and a challenge for us to consider the complexities of visibility and power. Editor: I'll definitely look at such group portraits with a different perspective now.
