This untitled painting was made by Zdzislaw Beksinski, who was from Poland. It is rendered in oil paint on a canvas support. Beksinski’s skillful brushwork and attention to detail invite closer inspection. He built up layers of paint, creating an eerie, organic form that emerges from a hazy background. The texture is incredibly important here: thin layers of color, seemingly applied in controlled washes.
