This "Paperweight" is a beautiful example of millefiori glass, a technique known for its intricate patterns and vibrant colors. The Compagnie de Saint Louis, a French glassworks, produced this paperweight sometime between 1845 and 1855. The paperweight's central design features a mesmerizing concentric pattern of white, blue, and green "flowers," surrounded by a swirling blue and white design. This small, but intricate work of art is now part of the collection of the Art Institute of Chicago.
