Editor: So, here we have Mauro Restiffe's "Empossamento #5", a black and white photograph. It feels very documentary, capturing this huge crowd. What do you make of it? Curator: It’s interesting, isn't it? Restiffe often plays with perspective, giving us a slice of a grand event, yet also a sense of distance, like we're eavesdropping on history. The high contrast and the architectural elements add to that feeling. Does it give you a feeling of monumentality? Editor: I see what you mean. The buildings give a sense of time and place. Curator: Exactly. And the crowd, of course, suggests a moment of political or social significance, but the ambiguity invites us to fill in the narrative. It's about feeling the weight of history. Editor: That’s a great point. Thanks for sharing that! Curator: My pleasure! It's always a joy to explore the layers in Restiffe's work.
