This untitled piece by Jackson Pollock, is made with lithographic ink on paper. Pollock's all about the action, and you can really feel that energy here! The ink's laid down in these bold, sweeping gestures, like he’s wrestling with the image. Look at the faces emerging from the chaos – they’re not neat or pretty, but raw, like they’ve been dragged up from the subconscious. There's a real physicality to this print. The ink feels almost sculptural in places, pooling and clotting to create these heavy black lines. See how the ink splatters and drips create these spontaneous details. It's almost like he's inviting chance into the process. It makes me think of Cy Twombly, who made art from a kind of sophisticated scrawl, but Pollock is all about the drama. It’s like he's saying that art isn't about perfection; it's about the messy, unpredictable act of creation itself.
