Conversion of Paul 1509 - 1519

Hans Baldung created this woodcut, "Conversion of Paul," at an unknown date. The image depicts the biblical story of Saul's transformation into Paul the Apostle. Set against a backdrop that resembles a small German town, the image visualizes Paul's encounter with a blinding light and the voice of Jesus, which led to his conversion to Christianity.
