Drie kreuzer, noodmunt uit Praag op naam van Maria Theresia, gelagen tijdens het beleg 1754

This small silver coin, known as a "noodmunt" (emergency coin), was minted in 1754 during the Siege of Prague. The coin, measuring only 2.2 cm in diameter, features an image of Maria Theresa, the Habsburg Empress, on one side, and the Habsburg coat of arms on the other. The coin's inscription details its value and the year of its production. These emergency coins, minted in times of crisis, provide insight into the economic and political conditions of the time. This particular coin, now housed in the Rijksmuseum, is an important historical artifact and an example of the ingenuity utilized during times of hardship.
